Frequently Asked Questions

When does the market open/close?

We don’t open or close—we just move inside or out! The Worthington Farmers Market is central Ohio’s only year round market, operating for 50 weeks of the year, closing only the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and during one week in September to make way for the annual Worthington Chamber of Commerce Market Day event.

Can I bring my pet to the market?

Yes, but we ask that pet owners abide by these six rules to make a pet’s visit to the market a good experience for everyone:

•    Pets must be kept on a short leash.
•    Pets must be under control and by the owner’s side at all times.
•    Keep pets away from produce, plants, and other food products.
•    Pets must be friendly with other pets and children.
•    Be considerate—not everyone loves your pet and some customers are allergic to animals.
•    Don’t forget to clean up after your pet.

The Worthington Farmers Market reserves the right to request that owners remove pets from the market.

Does the market allow buskers at market?

Music buskers are permitted when space allows. They are asked to check in at the market information booth and wait for the Market Manager who will assign them an area if available. Electronic amplification is not allowed, nor is playing/singing in a loud, disruptive manner such as to impede communication between vendors and customers.

Is the market cash only? Can I use my credit/debit card at market?

No cash? No problem. For regular market purchases, the market will accept debit and credit cards and provide shoppers with $5 denomination wooden tokens.

•    There are no restrictions on what can be bought with the $5 tokens.
•    Treat them just like cash at any market booth.
•    Most vendors accept them and give full change at the time of purchase.
•    The tokens have no expiration date.
•    $5 tokens cannot be refunded for cash once purchased.
•    A $1 donation is suggested but not required for each transaction.

Visit the market information booth for more information.

Does the market allow community organizations to set up a table at the market?

We are proud to offer the market as a resource to Worthington area organizations. The market invites community organizations to share information about their work in the community with our market goers.

Organizations with a primary focus in line with the Worthington Farmers Market will be considered for participation. Specifically, we ask that partnering organizations have their major focus in at least one of these areas:

  1. Charitable 501(c)(3) organizations.

  2. Organizations that promote Ohio foods.

  3. Organizations that enhance the community, or those who sponsor community improvement projects.

Limited sales are permitted for certain products. If you meet the above criteria and are interested in participating in our market, click here for the community table application
