Worthington Farmers Market: November 2

Moving Day to The Shops at Worthington Place

Please join us tomorrow for our first indoor market of the season inside The Shops at Worthington Place from 9 AM until 12 PM. Here's what you need to know:

HOURS Don't forget that indoor hours are shorter by one hour. The market will open at 9 AM and as always, our producers may not sell before opening bell.

PARKING Don't be intimidated by a full parking lot! Use any of the lots indicated below.

INFORMATION Have a question? Need tokens? The market information table is just outside of Aladdin's Eatery. Look for our green logo'd tablecloths.

THE COMPOST EXCHANGE The Compost Exchange is located outside of the main entrance of the mall, near Orvis and First Watch.

KNIFE SHARPENING The Market Sharpener will join the market again this season, but will NOT be available on the first Saturdays of the month. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

YOGA AT THE MARKET Grab your mats and join us for Yoga at the Market with Jade Yoga and Wellness on the second Saturday of the month. Classes begin at 12:15 PM, right after the Market, and all levels are welcome.

MUSIC IN THE MARKET We are thrilled to announce the continuation of Open Mic at the Market at the south end (near Panera and Talbots) and The Worthington Squares at the north end (near the play area).

The Market Wellness Doctor's Weekly Health Tip

Lifestyle Matters. How we eat, move, sleep and manage stress has an enormous impact on health and longevity.

Health Tip #19: Eat Organic for Your Health!

Organic foods show in studies to have significantly lower pesticide residues than conventionally grown foods. Specific foods like broccoli and strawberries have been shown to have significantly higher concentrations of antioxidants and phytonutrients. Nitrogen rich chemical fertilizer overuse is resulting in leaching into waterways causing dead zones.

Conventional farming has been shown to result in worsening soil erosion, whereas organic growers are required to amend their soils naturally with compost. Conventional farming's use of pesticides is decimating bee populations and other beneficial species. Not to mention the safety of our agricultural workers from pesticide exposure. Use of GMO seeds results in even more pesticide use!

Eating organically helps to ensure the health of our children now and our grandchildren in the future. (1)(2)

Be well! See you at the market on Saturday!
