Celebrate Mom Tomorrow at The Worthington Farmers Market - May 11

NEW! Green Plate Special!
#GetFreshwithUs, tomorrow, with the premier of our Green Plate Special Collaboration!
The Green Plate Special is a weekly collaboration between a Market producer and a local food truck that will incorporate the producer's featured product in a special dish, just for the Farmers' Market!
This week, we're proud to feature BACON from Oink Moo Cluck Farms in a Market special dish created by Kenny's Meat Wagon. $1.00 of every Green Plate Special sold will be donated back to the Worthington Farmers Market to further our mission to "Encourage, support and promote the entrepreneurial efforts of local, independent, and small-scale farmers and food artisans seeking to sell their products directly to consumers."
Find the Green Plate Special on the west side of High Street, on the driveway opposite the Village Green.

Yoga on the Green is Back!
Join Centered Yoga + Movement for a 1-hour yoga session (all levels welcome!) on the Southeast Village Green, starting at 8:00 am every second Saturday of the month - May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14 and October 12. Bring Mom, tomorrow, and indulge in 60 minutes of movement, breath and stillness on the Village Green. Center the mind, body and breath, dynamically move through postures and rest beneath the canopy of trees. A calming, yet invigorating practice. Bring your own mat or enjoy yoga on the grass. Classes are free and open to everyone, of all abilities. For those who would like to make a donation of any amount, please visit the market information table. In the event of rain, participants are invited, inside, to Centered Yoga + Movement's studio for free!

The Market Wellness Doctor's Weekly Health Tip
Visit the Market Wellness Doctor, stall #74, near Dewey's Plaza
Lifestyle Matters. How we eat, move, sleep and manage stress has an enormous impact on health and longevity.
Health Tip #44: Is your domestic tap water safe ? Does it really matter?
Water is life! 99 % of the molecules in our body are water! And, we cannot survive more than a few days without water! The 100 trillion cells in our bodies cannot function without sufficient water with trace minerals. The challenge is getting sufficient clean and chemical free water.
Two of the most common contaminants are fluoride and lead. Lead, even in small amounts, is associated with brain damage. Fluoride, which is added to most public water systems, is a known neurotoxin carcinogen and is shown to provide modest dental cavity prevention at best.
Water treatment facilities often use chlorine as a water disinfectant. Trihalomethanes are a dangerous by-product of this process and are associated with colon and rectal cancers, low birth weight, miscarriages and birth defects.
Nuclear waste, like tritium, emits ionizing radiation and has been found in groundwater, which makes it way into our drinking water supplies, and when ingested, may increase the risk of cancer.
Hormone exposure from birth control pills is an example of "second hand" pharmaceuticals exposure through drinking water and is becoming a widely pervasive problem about which the EPA has expressed concerns.
Fertilizer and herbicide runoff from our farms and fields makes it way into our drinking water supplies, too, despite known associations with cancers, liver damage, endocrine disruption and high amounts in breast milk.(1)
Drink clean, filtered, mineral-rich water daily.
