Worthington Farmers Market - Welcome Inside!

Fresh Picks from our Veggie Spy

Eat Your Spinach!

So, is spinach REALLY that good for you?

Yes it is! It's loaded with antioxidants, iron, calcium, and fiber and plenty more. If you didn't take your mom's spinach advice when you were a kid, now is the time to start! And, it is incredibly versatile. The Veggie Spy loves spinach in scrambled eggs and stir fry. Did you know that light green spinach leaves are a tad sweeter than darker ones? Whatever the shade you desire, you can find spinach at Franklinton Farms, Jorgensen Farms, Rock Dove and Tilley Farmstead.

Remember, indoor season for the Market is underway! Find us inside the Shops at Worthington Place on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. There may be a chill in the air, but there is plenty of local produce available at the Market!

Thanksgiving Closure

Gobble up all your groceries for the Thanksgiving holiday at the Worthington Farmers Market on Saturday, November 23! The Worthington Farmers Market will be closed on Saturday, November 30 so that our farmers, artisans and volunteers can spend the Thanksgiving holiday with their families. The Market will resume on Saturday, December 7.

Join us every Saturday, leading up to and after our Thanksgiving closure, inside The Shops at Worthington Place - 7227 N High St, Worthington, OH 43085, from 9am-12pm. Our indoor season runs from the first Saturday in November through the last Saturday in April.

Token Transaction Fee

Effective November 1, due to an increase in fees charged to us by Square (our credit card processor), a $1 transaction fee will be applied to the sales total of our $5 Market tokens. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to absorb this cost and do have to pass along some of that increase. We thank you for your understanding and continued support of our small businesses.

The $1 fee applies to your entire token transaction, and is NOT a per token charge. So, whether you purchase $5 or $50, you only pay the $1 for the transaction. SNAP tokens and Produce Perks tokens are not impacted.

Save the Date

  • Saturday, November 30 - Farmers Market is Closed The Worthington Farmers Market will be closed on Saturday, November 30 so that our producers and volunteers can spend the Thanksgiving holiday with their families. We'll re-open at 9am on Saturday, December 7, inside the Shops at Worthington Place.

  • Sunday, December 1, 12pm to 5pm - Old Worthington Holiday Open House, hosted by The Worthington Partnership and Experience Worthington. Bring the family to enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season, including an iceless ice rink, trackless train, horse-drawn carriage rides, live music and a visit from Santa. Community Table - Wreaths Across America

The Worthington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting our Community Table this week in support of Wreaths Across America. The Worthington Chapter of DAR helps with this effort every December by laying wreaths at Flint Rd, Walnut Grove, and St John's Episcopal cemeteries. Find them at booth #49 inside the NE entrance of the Shops at Worthington Place.

Open Mic Performances

Enjoy the musical sounds of the Market thanks to our Open Mic performances! Find them near Panera at the South entrance, inside The Shops at Worthington Place.

Did you know you can take a turn at the mic? We always welcome new musicians*! Sign-ups are available with Chip Woods at the Open Mic stage.

*Due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate musicians outside of our open mic performances.

Resveratrol is a specific type of polyphenol found in red wine, grape skins and red skin peanuts. Consumption of resveratrol is associated with decreased mortality from cardiovascular diseases. Resveratrol has been shown in research as far back as 1982 to reduce oxidized LDL, total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL cholesterol while increasing HDL cholesterol. (1)

In 2003, resveratrol was shown to be an activator of a specific group of longevity genes called sirtuins which have been shown to extend the life span of animals. (2) Resveratrol has been shown to extend the life span of diverse species of organisms. Data indicates that improving the general health of mammals using small molecules such as resveratrol is an attainable goal and are a consideration for treating obesity related disorders and disease of aging.(3) Resveratrol has been shown to be a sirtuin activating compound, thereby improving their longevity effect. Additionally, lifestyle behavior such as exercise, intermittent fasting and caloric restriction can trigger improved activity of sirtuins.(4)
