Stocking Stuffers? Done!
Whether you're stuffing stockings or stuffing your oven with traditional holiday goodies, we can help you tackle that shopping list. Our farmers and artisan makers are sharing their bounty this Saturday with unique eats and treats - many ready for sharing and giving.
And, one of the easiest gifts to share - the gift of fresh and local - is available with Market gift certificates and gift cards.

Several of our producers offer gift certificates and gift cards including:
Pleiades Maple Products has gift certificates for their large variety of Mount Gilead-proud maple syrup and maple sugar products. Pair this with some of their old-fashioned maple sugar candies for a naturally sweet gift.
Give a gift card from Red Moon Ranch with Shelby's farm-fresh eggs and apple maple breakfast sausage links for a hearty holiday wake-up.
Or, introduce someone to hydroponically-

grown tomatoes and veggies with a gift card from VanScoy Farms.
Market gift certificates, redeemable at all of our producers are also available in $5 and $10 denominations. You can purchase these at the Market information booth, located near the fountain (now giant Christmas tree) just inside the east entrance of The Shops at Worthington Place.
The Merriest Market of Them All
Tomorrow may be the shortest day of the year, but there's plenty of festive activities to enjoy all morning long at the Worthington Farmers Market!

Market Sprouts - Fun for all ages, we've taken this month's inspiration from the chilly weather and the holiday season. Visit the Market Sprouts table, near the Anthony Vince nail salon to make a jolly snowman ornament from popscicle sticks. As always, we provide all the materials, and it's free to participate.
T'was the Night Before Christmas read-along - Join us at 10am at the open mic area, near Panera, for our favorite Christmas story. Our very own Market volunteer, Jan Williams, will be reading aloud T'was the Night Before Christmas.
Have yourself a sustainable Christmas - Stop by the Worthington Partnership Sustainability Committee booth, #12, for sustainable gifts from Full Circle Source, sustainable gift wrap ideas and tips for reducing waste and having a #sustainableholiday ! Plus, get creative recipe ideas for what you purchase at the Market!
Market yoga - No need to wait until January 1st to get started on your healthy resolutions! Enjoy a free yoga class, hosted by Jade Yoga and Wellness, inside The Shops at Worthington Place. The Market yoga class is offered on a first come, first served basis from 12pm-1pm on the third Saturday of each month of our indoor market season. Please register for this class at the Jade Yoga and Wellness studio. Registration begins at 9am on Saturday. Remember to bring your mat, towel and water bottle. All levels are welcome!
A Few of our Favorite Things - Holiday Edition
Our Market volunteers love getting to know our producers and trying their products. They've become quite the connoisseurs of all the Market has to offer. Need a recommendation or directions? Pay a visit to the Market information booth or just look for the "volunteer" badge. We're always happy to help!
And, if you're still looking for that perfect gift, the Market volunteers have rounded up a couple of their favorites:

Spotted Salamander Soap is clearly a crowd favorite among our volunteers! Both Sam and Lisa picked this as their most wished for item this Christmas! And, this Market manager also has a drawer, fully stocked, with multiple bars. Let your nose be your guide when selecting your signature scent, but if you can't decide, Sam says that Northwoods Shea Butter soap is his go-to.

For Sylvia, new addition, Scoop O' Granola is her top pick. She wrapped up her gift list with a granola gift basket from chief granola makers - Patrick and Liz. Sylvia recommends the carrot cake granola.

Though they'll be taking tomorrow off for the holiday, starting next Saturday, Scoop O' Granola will be at the Market every week.

Lifestyle Matters. How we eat, move, sleep and manage stress has an enormous impact on health and longevity.
PTSD
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common consequence of trauma. Clinical hallmarks of PTSD include recurrent, intrusive recollections of a traumatic event, avoidance of trauma reminders, negative changes in cognition and mood and changes in arousal and reactivity. PTSD often results in severe reductions in quality of life, disrupting personal relationships and the ability to work as well as increasing risk of mood and substance/alcohol use disorders. PTSD is also associated with an increased risk of developing chronic physical conditions such as arthritis, coronary artery disease, metabolic syndrome chronic pain syndromes and asthma.(1)
The good news is that there is a broad range of therapies available to treat PTSD which have shown promise. Regular aerobic exercise has been shown in studies to be associated with improvements in PTSD, anxiety and depression.Yoga is also showing very good potential as a safe, effective therapy for PTSD. Meditation is also associated with improvements in PTSD and is a very low risk intervention.Trauma-focused psychotherapies are shown to be very helpful with low risk of harm. Acupuncture has shown good potential in the treatment of PTSD with little risk. Pharmacotherapies like paroxitine, fluoxetine and venlafaxine have been shown to be very effective in treatment of PTSD, however there is relatively moderate risk of harm due to drug side effects.(2)
If you or a loved one are suffering from PTSD, talk with your doctor. You can experience some relief!
See you at the Market!
