We heard Santa loves cookie dough...but who doesn't?!
Just in time for the holidays, we're raising our spoons to welcome 3rd & Spoon edible cookie dough! Using only premium ingredients, they mix their dough in small batches to deliver smooth, rich flavor in every bite.
3rd & Spoon's delightful cookie dough can be eaten right out of the jar. But don’t stop there – try the dough as a dip, spread, filling or as a topping on ice cream! This tantalizing treat is perfect as a personal indulgence as well as a fun-filled party dessert.
Look for Alex and team in the Graeter's parking lot, near House Wine this Saturday from 9am-12pm.

Celebrate the Holidays With…Mushrooms!

Mushrooms, the fleshy, spore bearing, above-ground parts of fungi, are a wonderful ingredient to add flavor and texture to your holiday meals. Fungi are amazing creatures that are neither plant nor animal, they are somewhere in between. Much less is known about fungi than plants, but we do know that:
Fungi DNA is closer to human DNA than plant DNA.
Fungi form huge networks under forests & play a critical role in forest health.
Most of a fungus is not the mushroom above ground; it is underground in the form of a mass of thread-like structures call mycelium
The largest fungus in the world takes up over three sq miles in an Oregon forest and is thousands of years old!
Fungi cannot produce food from sunlight like plants do, they get food from decomposing organic matter.
The yeast used to bake bread and brew beer is a kind of single-celled fungus
Mushrooms are high in Vitamin D, 3 B vitamins, and selenium.
Psychedelic mushrooms are being used in research studies to treat anxiety, addiction, and depression
You can discover more amazing properties of fungi in the documentary Fantastic Fungi (trailer) on Netflix.

The Market has two mushroom vendors: Mayapple Farms and Blue Owl. Current offerings include both dried and fresh shiitakes, the popular mushroom from East Asia with a meaty texture and earthy flavor. Also available are several types of oyster mushrooms, which tend to have a delicate flavor. Mayapple’s King oyster mushrooms have a wonderful texture that makes a fine bacon substitute. Also look for reishi, a medicinal mushroom that has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine and is thought to have anti-cancer and anti-aging properties.

If you are looking for a gift for that person who has darn near everything, consider a mushroom log from Blue Owl. They’ll be able to grow their own shiitakes once Spring arrives.

Other unusual finds are cider jelly from Sippel and the flavorful Kitchen Sink microgreen mix from Seven Acre Farm. Also, Mondiale Collections has a vegan hot chocolate mix.
Other Finds

Franklinton Farms still has peppers! They also offer mini cabbages, radicchio, and sweet potatoes. Head to 9N for squash and celery. Jorgensen has beautiful lettuce, spinach, and beets. The Blueberry Patch will be back. Gillogly still has plenty of pears, including seconds. Rock Dove has red cabbage microgreens.

Updated INDOOR Mask Requirement
Beginning September 16, the City of Worthington requires facial coverings in all publicly accessible *indoor* locations. Please plan accordingly if your trip to Saturday's Worthington Farmers Market (hosted outdoors through December 18) includes a visit inside Old Worthington restaurants and shops.

As public health continues to be threatened by a resurgence in cases of COVID-19 due to the highly contagious Delta variant, the City of Worthington has joined the City of Columbus and other central Ohio communities in instituting a face covering requirement for all publicly accessible indoor locations effective Thursday, September 16. The requirement applies to all individuals, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. Read complete details here: https://worthington.org/1977/Worthington-Mask-Requirement
Can I Bring My Dog to the Outdoor Market?

Well-socialized and well-behaved dogs are welcome to accompany visitors to the Worthington Farmers Market.
We ask that pet owners abide by these rules to make a pet’s visit to the Market a good experience for everyone:
Pets must be kept on a short leash.
Pets must be under control and by the owner’s side at all times.
Keep pets away from produce, plants, and other food products.
Pets must be friendly with other pets and people of all ages.
Be considerate—not everyone loves your pet; some customers are fearful and others are allergic to animals.
Please clean up after your pet. Market staff and volunteers are not responsible for cleaning up after your pet.
Sidewalks and pavement in and around the Market get HOT! during the summer months and can burn the sensitive foot pads of dogs in a matter of minutes. Please consider keeping your pups cool and comfortable at home on the hottest summer days.
If your pet is coughing, vomiting, has diarrhea or exhibiting other signs of illness, please keep them home. Market staff and volunteers are not responsible for cleaning up after your pet.
Invest in Your Community

Do you love our farmers market? We are powered by a non-profit organization that largely relies on donations to fund our operations. Please consider donating to help us reach our goal. Current Operational Guidelines
Facial coverings are optional, though recommended for unvaccinated people.
Space between vendor booths has increased to ensure maximum aisle width. Form lines in empty spaces next to booths to allow other pedestrians to pass and keep traffic flowing in the main aisles and sidewalks.
Sanitize your hands often. Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the Market space.
Only touch the products that you intend to buy. Or, allow the farmer or food maker to select your products for you.
And, remember, if you have a fever or if you are not feeling well, please stay home.

Thank you for your continued support, cooperation and patience!
UPDATE: Beginning September 16, the City of Worthington requires facial coverings in all publicly accessible *indoor* locations. Please plan accordingly if your trip to Saturday's Worthington Farmers Market (hosted outdoors through October 30) includes a visit inside of our Old Worthington restaurants and shops.
