The Worthington Farmers Market is Closed This Saturday

The Worthington Partnership takes pride in programming events to bring the community together. And, based on this week's order restricting large gatherings issued by Governor Mike DeWine’s office and the Ohio Department of Health, The Worthington Farmers Market will be closed this Saturday, March 14 to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The health and safety of our Market community – our producers, our shoppers, our volunteers, and our staff - are top of mind for us in making this decision.

We regret the impact a closure will have on our small business producers and on our customers that rely on the Worthington Farmers Market as a source for fresh food and weekly staples. We will do our best to keep the Market closure to a minimum. Please continue to monitor our social media accounts for weekly updates.

The Market Wellness Doctor's Weekly Health Tip

Optimize Your Immune Function!

Be proactive and let common sense prevail.

Begin with regular washing of hands and sanitizing surfaces at home and work. Be mindful about passing and receiving germs from others. Get adequate, restorative sleep, nightly. Drink plenty of clean pure water, daily. Be aware of and deal with personal stress, daily. Exercise regularly and eat plenty of nutrient-rich, whole foods.

For fighting viruses, nutritional supplements are not just a good idea, they are absolutely essential. Vitamin C has been shown in many studies to be an excellent antiviral treatment. Begin with approximately 2000-3000 milligrams daily for adults. Magnesium also has been shown in studies to be an excellent antiviral supplement. Take approximately 400 milligrams daily for adults. To bolster immune function, vitamin D 2000 international units daily is incredibly powerful. Finally, Zinc 20 to 40 milligrams per day and selenium 100 micrograms per day for adults are shown to be powerful antioxidants.(1)
